Kentrosaurus (Kentrosaurus aethiopicus) belongs to the family Stegosauridae, a group of herbivorous dinosaurs known for their distinctive plates and spikes. It inhabited what is now Tanzania and lived approximately 155 to 150 million years ago. The first fossils of Kentrosaurus were discovered in 1909, with subsequent findings contributing to our understanding of this fascinating dinosaur.

Kentrosaurus possessed a unique body structure characterized by rows of sharp, pointed spikes adorning its back and tail. It measured around 4.5 to 5 meters in length and weighed an estimated 1 to 2 tons. The back of Kentrosaurus featured large, triangular plates, which likely functioned for thermoregulation or display purposes. Its tail bore pairs of long spikes, providing defense against predators. The skull of Kentrosaurus was small and narrow, housing a set of leaf-shaped teeth adapted for browsing on vegetation.
